ADULT EDUCATION & IMMIGRANT SERVICES

APCC's Adult Education & Immigrant Services department serves local, state, and communal interests by providing residents with vital educational services that enable them to achieve upward social mobility. Our department provides free courses and academic support that reflect the unique needs of the community we serve. Students may enroll in our English, Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED, Citizenship and Career Bridge courses. Through these courses, we aim to prepare all learners at APCC for the workforce, career advancement, college and/or US citizenship. Our instructors hold Master's Degrees in Linguistics, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and closely mirror the ethnic and cultural diversity of Albany Park. We ensure each class is a welcoming and culturally inclusive learning environment for all.

FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS

Our bridge programs help adults acquire and sharpen foundational skills that help facilitate enrollment in higher education programs and, eventually, employment. Without adult education programs, the City of Chicago and the state of Illinois would have a less literate and underprepared workforce incapable of responding to growing employment needs
