Students may enroll in our English, Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED, Citizenship and Career Bridge courses. Through these courses, we aim to prepare all learners at APCC for the workforce, career advancement, college and/or US citizenship. We ensure each class is a welcoming and culturally inclusive learning environment for all.
WHAT WE ADDRESS
COLLEGE & CAREER
Our education practitioners and workforce development professionals at APCC work to ensure that both youth and adult learners are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to be college and career ready. Thus, responding to the growing demand from employers for a more educated and skilled workforce.
IMPROVING LOCAL &
Our courses in citizenship, adult basic education, GED, and English as a Second Language allow students to find jobs & advance their employment prospects, which in turn enables them to continue to make vital economic contributions that benefit both the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois.
BRIDGING THE GAP
Our bridge programs help adults acquire and sharpen foundational skills that help facilitate enrollment in higher education programs and, eventually, employment. Without adult education programs, the City of Chicago and the state of Illinois would have a less literate and underprepared workforce incapable of responding to growing employment needs
For many new Americans and recent arrival immigrants, learning English is critical to their personal, professional and familial development and success in the United States. APCC provides free English (ESL) courses for students at all learning levels.
