Hands-on roles

Volunteers keep Albany Park Community Center ready when families need tutoring, food referrals, youth activities, and classroom help. We match steady weekly helpers with front desk greeting, event setup, backpack drives, and light office tasks. You do not need a special degree. You need clear communication, respect for neighbors from many backgrounds, and hours you can honor. Read our program listings for current services, then share your interests when you reach out.

Schedules and skills

Many roles run on weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Tech helpers sometimes support basic computer lab needs. Bilingual volunteers often assist during intake and enrollment. If you are under eighteen, ask about youth service options and any forms your guardian must sign. Schools, churches, and clubs can propose a one-day project when dates line up with staff capacity.

Email or call through our contact page with your name, availability, and skills such as childcare, cooking, or data entry. We answer with orientation dates, site expectations, and a short tour when space allows. New to APCC? Scan the home page for a quick picture of our work before you write. Thank you for supporting neighbors on the North Side.
